Stolen Scuba Gear Registry FAQ's
What is the purpose of this registry?
- This registry will provide a central location to report lost or stolen scuba
equipment. The person suffering the loss will add their equipment to the database.
Potential buyers of 'questionable' equipment can search the database to see if that
gear is listed.
What should I do if I find gear listed as stolen/lost?
- Do NOT confront the individual. Contact the local authorities listed in the
'details' page of the item. If there is no information provided for local authorities,
contact the person that listed the item. If their email is not available, contact us.
Again, Do NOT confront the individual. There may be a perfectly valid reason as to why
they have that gear.
I do not see contact information listed?
- Make sure to click the 'details' link for additional information that is not included in the
'search results' and 'show all' pages.
-
Do I have to include my email when submitting an item to the registry?
- There are two email fields on the insert form. The private email field must be
filled in, even if you will be filling in the public email field. This information
will not be divulged to the public. The public email field will allow anyone to
contact you if they should spot your missing equipment.
